How do you see your business? As a mass of coal among many in a heap, or as a diamond that outshines its surroundings? I think we already know the answer to that. This being the case, why do so many companies look like lumps of coal – all more or less alike, with no distinguishing features or promises of excellence? It really is strange, considering that nearly every business of any kind has that certain something that makes it unique, giving it an identity and personality coupled with a story to tell. A story to be remembered.

Taking a mass of coal and converting it into a diamond is a process requiring the formidable powers of nature. Turning a business into a diamond fortunately only takes human effort, though the process is very similar. When you take a lump of coal and put it under immense heat and pressure, you get a diamond in the rough. A potential diamond. It is only when you then apply the professional skill needed to cut and polish it that something unique emerges, i.e. a diamond.

The process is not easy, but it is always worthwhile. Why? Because immeasurably a diamond is more valuable than a mass of coal.
